Rollins Cruises Past Rhodes in Exhibition

WINTER PARK, Fla. (November 3, 2017) – Rollins saw 13 different players score with five posting double figures as the Tars beat Rhodes 96-42 in exhibition play on Friday night. 

Rollins came into the preseason tune-up ranked No. 17 in Division II by the coaches and No. 9 by the media. 

Keevana Edwards and Jasmine Stone both put up 12 points and four rebounds to lead the Tars. Tianna Rosser added 12 points and two boards. Jaylyn Harrison recorded 11 points and six assists without a turnover while Jo Bistrow added 10 points, five rebounds, three assists and two steals. 

Rollins shot 54 percent (37-68) from the field and outrebounded the Lynx 54-31.

Rhodes was led by Winter Park native Erin Deery with 11 points. Alyssa Owens added 11 points, six rebounds and four assists. 

Rollins jumped out to a 30-11 lead after the first and outscored the Lynx 23-5 in the second to take a 53-16 advantage into the locker room. The Tars would lead by as much as 60 early in the fourth. 

Rollins will have its final tune-up of the preseason on Monday, November 6 hosting the Costa Rician National Team at 7 p.m.
