MELBOURNE, Fla. (December 11, 2017) – For the third time this season and eighth of her career, Rollins junior Carly McLendon was named the Sunshine State Conference Player of the Week, it was announced Monday. 

Against Saint Leo on Saturday, the Sanford native tallied six blocks, nine rebounds and a steal in holding the Lions to 44 points. 

McLendon currently leads the Sunshine State Conference and is sixth the nation with 3.2 blocks per game. Her 29 total blocks ranks fifth in Division II. McLendon tops Rollins and is second in the SSC with 9.6 rebounds per night. 

McLendon is within striking distance of the Rollins career blocks record, sitting with 137 for her career. She needs just three to tie Kim Tayrien and Kirsten Dellinger for the all-time lead of 140. 

Rollins next hosts a pair of key South Region games on December 16 and 18. The Tars first welcome Miles College to Winter Park for a 2 p.m. game on Saturday, Dec. 16. They then close the first semester on Monday, Dec. 18 meeting Albany State at 5:30 p.m. Fans can catch the action on the Tars Sports Network at RollinsSports.com.
