WINTER PARK, Fla. (February 17, 2018) – Rollins didn't have an answer for Eckerd's stingy defense in the second half and took a 79-62 loss on senior day.

Prior to the game, Rollins Athletics honored seniors Jo Bistrow, Keevana Edwards, Julia Ingler and Jasmine Stone for their illustrious careers.

Sophomore Jaylyn Harrison led the Rollins (12-13, 7-12 Sunshine State Conference) with 19 points, two assists and two steals. Ingler added 14 points, four rebounds and four assists with Stone netting 13.

Eckerd (19-6, 13-5 SSC) had four players score in double figures, led by 19 from Chelsea Johnson. Kacie Juday added 14 points and eight rebounds. Ada Yalcin chipped in 13 points and six rebounds and Armi Anttila scored 10.

Rollins shot 39 percent in the game, but hit just 7-of-21 in the second half, allowing EC to run away. The Tritons hit 51 percent from the field and out rebounded Rollins 39-25.

The Tars led by as many as five twice in the first quarter, but an 7-0 Eckerd run to close the period put Rollins down 17-15.

Stone hit a deep three to open the second and get Rollins back on top by one. Eckerd then began to pound the ball down low and posted a 35-20 lead with 4:30 left in the half. The Tars cut the lead to nine twice late in the frame and closed to 42-35 at the half on a Stone triple at the buzzer.

Carly McLendon got hot to start the second and Rollins pulled to within five, but traded baskets with EC the next eight possessions and couldn't get any closer. Eckerd took a 60-47 lead into fourth quarter.

Rollins offense sputtered to start the final period, going 2-of-5 from the field with three turnovers. Eckerd took advantage and ran out to a 68-50 lead with four minutes left. Rollins got to within 14 with 3:35 to play before Eckerd was able to put the game away late.

Rollins will close the regular season on Saturday, February 24 visiting Saint Leo at 5:30 p.m. The Tars will likely need a win to have a shot at a spot in the Sunshine State Conference Tournament, which begins February 28.
