  • PREVIEW: Tars Meet Trolls in Nonconference Tilt

    After a strenuous week hitting the books and taking off from competition for final exams, Rollins is set to host Trinity Christian in its final nonconference game of the year. The Tars are winners of three straight and vaulted into a tie for first place in the Sunshine State Conference, joining Florida Southern as the only unbeatens in league play. Monday’s game will be the Tars final tune-up before playing their next 17 games against SSC competition. Trinity Christian is an NAIA school out of Palos Heights, Illinois and will be in Winter Park for the first time. The Trolls play twice before their visit to the Sunshine State, which also includes stops at Southeastern in Lakeland and Florida College in Temple Terrace. TCC will be playing three games in three days on the trip.

The Tars are 2-3 on the year and looking to ride one of the league’s top defenses into a positive start to the SSC schedule…Embry-Riddle jumped into 17th in the latest D2SIDA Media Poll and are a perfect 5-0 to start the year. The Eagles posted a 104-89 win over West Liberty their last time out and are second in the conference in offense with 80 points a game. ERAU finished tied for 4th in the SSC preseason poll while the Tars were seventh.
