WINTER PARK, Fla. (February 9, 2019) – Rollins snapped out of a four-game skid in a big way on Saturday, beating Palm Beach Atlantic 62-54.

The Tars improve to 10-11 overall and 7-8 in Sunshine State Conference play as teams try and stake a claim to the SSC Tournament now in the final month of the season. PBA falls to 3-17, 1-13 SSC.

Rachel Lia led Rollins with 12 points, six rebounds and four assists on the day. Fellow sophomore Rachel Jablonski continued her hot streak, netting 11.

Jonika Garvin poured in a game-high 26 for the Sailfish, also grabbing eight rebounds and getting three blocks. Mina Salhia added 12 points and three assists.

PBA led 6-4 early before the Tars posted a 12-1 run and grabbed a 14-7 lead. Rollins kept the 'Fish off the board for nearly eight minutes until a Garvin layup sent the game to the second quarter with the Tars leading 14-9.

Rollins outscored PBA 8-2 to start the second and led 22-11 with 8:54 left in the half. The Sailfish then began to hammer the ball down low and earned trips to the free throw line, cutting Rollins lead to 29-25 at intermission.

In the third, Rollins extended its advantage to as many as 10 on three occasions before a pair of Garvin three throws put Rollins lead at 47-39 heading into the fourth.

Rollins didn't let PBA get any closer than eight the entire quarter and held on for a key victory in the SSC standings.

Rollins shot 39 percent from the field and outrebounded PBA 43-35. The Sailfish shot 37 percent from the field.
