PREVIEW: Tars Travel South for GolfRank Invitational

WINTER PARK, Fla. (October 7, 2017) – Coming off a superb performance at the Princeton Invitational to open the season, the Rollins women's golf team next heads to Palm Beach Gardens for the 2017 GolfRank Invitational October 9-10.

The Nova Southeastern-hosted even features 14 teams, including 10 from the Sunshine State Conference. Barry, Embry-Riddle, Florida Southern, Florida Tech, Lynn, NSU, Palm Beach Atlantic, Saint Leo and Tampa join the Tars from the nation's top college golf league. Rounding out the field is Johnson & Wales, Keiser, Merrimack and West Florida.

The first GolfStat national rankings are slated to be released October 15 with the results of this event posing as a big decider on the order.

Teams will play three rounds, 36 holes on Monday and a final 18 on Tuesday at PGA National's Fazio Course (par 72/6,200 yards).

Rollins has won twice in the tournament's 11-year history, taking the trophy in 2007 and 2015. Four times Tars have claimed medalist honors; Laura Fourdraine in 2007, Joanna Coe in 2009, Annie Dulman in 2012 and current Rollins senior Lexie Toth in 2015. The then sophomore shot rounds of 75-70 for her first collegiate tournament win.

Seher Atwal leads the Tars on the season with a 74.00 stroke average, followed by Madison Lellyo (75.67) and Toth (78.33). Sophie Faulkner (79.33) and Selin Timur (80.00) have also played for the Tars this season.
