LAKELAND, Fla. (February 20, 2018) – Rollins made a jump up the leaderboard Tuesday into ninth place to close the Lady Moc Classic in Lakeland.
Florida Southern served as host of the annual spring season kick-off at Grasslands Golf and Country Club.
Rollins shot a 17-over 305 in the final round and finished the event with a 60-over score of 924 (323-296-305). The Tars were 12th after the first round and steadily made a climb up the leaderboard. Nova Southeastern led wire-to-wire, posting a winning 13-over score of 877 (290-293-294). Saint Leo (+17) was runner-up with Seminole State (+28) taking third.
Lexie Toth moved into a tie for 14th to lead the way for the Tars. The senior turned in a four-over 76 on Tuesday and finished with a nine-over score of 225 strokes (78-71-76). Starting on the back-nine, she posted a birdie to open play and was even at the turn after a bogey on No. 18. She then took four more bogeys on the back.
Selin Timur fired a one-over 73 and moved into a tie for 20th with an 11-over 227 (80-74-73). She bogeyed the second hole of the day, but got the stroke back with a birdie on No. 16. The sophomore was solid on the final-nine holes with one bogey the only blemish on the scorecard.
Madison Lellyo tied for 50th, shooting scores of 83-74-81 (238). Shayne Lovan tied for 58th after rounds of 87-77-75 (239).
Tilda Larsson of Barry won the tournament with a six-under score of 210 (69-71-70).
Rollins is back in action March 5-6 hosting the Peggy Kirk Bell Memorial Invitational at Golden Bear Club at Keen's Point.
