WINDERMERE, Fla. (March 5, 2018) – Rollins turned in two solid rounds and is tied for fifth after day one of the Tars own Peggy Kirk Bell Memorial Invitational.
The event is being hosted at The Golden Bear Club at Keene's Pointe in Windermere for the first time in its more than four-decade history.
Nova Southeastern and Dallas Baptist shot identical rounds of 290-288 and are tied atop the leaderboard at two-over (578). Florida Southern shot 297-288 and is second at nine-over while third-place Saint Leo (294-292) is 10-over.
Rollins shot 302 and 289 to tie with Lynn with 591 (+5) strokes.
Senior Lexie Toth leads the way for the Tars and is third overall. The Dublin, Ohio native shot two rounds of one-under 71 to sit with a two-under 142 for the event. Jamie Freedman (73-67) of Nova Southeastern and Evelyn Arguelles (72-68) of Dallas Baptist top the field with four-under scores of 140.
Seher Atwal is 14th with 146 strokes. The sophomore shot 76 in the morning round and fired a two-under 70 in the afternoon, jumping 17 spots up the leaderboard.
The PKB Memorial concludes Tuesday, March 6 with a final round at The Golden Bear Club at Keene's Pointe. Players are scheduled for an 8:15 a.m. shotgun start. Results will be posted on GolfState.com when available.
