GERMANTOWN, Tenn. (March 13, 2018) – Rollins posted the best score of the entire tournament on the final day to jump Saint Leo and win the Christian Brothers Buccaneer Spring Classic.
Seher Atwal tied for first place and took medalist honors in a scorecard playoff, shooting a final round 74.
The 15th-ranked Tars and fourth-ranked Lions turned the tournament in a head-to-head battle with third place Southern Indiana 56-strokes behind the two Sunshine State Conference rivals.
Rollins shot a first-round 307 and led Saint Leo by three (310), only to see Leo move into first place after day one, besting the Tars 306-313 in the second round.
The battle continued into the back-nine of the final round with Rollins posting a final-round 302 and Leo shooting 309, giving the Tars a three-shot victory (922-925).
Seher Atwal used a final round 74 and moved from third to first, giving the sophomore a first collegiate win. She posted a three-round score of 229 (77-78-74) to match Saint Leo's Amanda Jakobsson (73-78-78).
Madison Lellyo tied for seventh with a 17-over score of 233, carding rounds of 80-77-76. Lara van Staden and Shyanne Lovan both shot scores of 247, tying for 14th. Lovan played as an individual and posted scores of 83-83-81 while van Staden shot 87-82-78.
Julia Malone tied for 21st, shooting scores of 88-85-90 for a 47-over score of 263.
Rollins will be in South Florida next week, taking part in the Barry Women's Invitational at the Shula Gulf Club in Miami Lakes.
