BOCA RATON, Fla. (April 15, 2018) – Rollins shot an opening round 313 Sunday to grab fifth place after the first round of the Sunshine State Conference Championship.
Osprey Point Golf Club in Boca Raton is the setting for the event with Lynn serving as host.
The ninth-ranked Tars 25-over trails leader Nova Southeastern by 16 strokes with the top-ranked Sharks turning in a nine-over 297. Barry (+12) is second, Lynn (+14) third and Florida Tech (+23) fourth.
Selin Timur used a solid back-nine and stepped into a tie for 13th to lead the Tars after the opening round. She was five-over at the turn and started the back birdie-double bogey-birdie before settling down with five straight pars. She bogeyed the last and finished with a five-over score of 77.
Lexie Toth is tied for 17th after a six-over 78 to start play. The senior's only blemish on the front was a double-bogey on the eighth while finishing with a four-over back-nine.
NSU's Michelle Ruiz paces the field with a four-under 68 on Sunday.
Rollins will be in the third wave of tee times for round two, playing with Florida Tech and Saint Leo beginning at 8:55 a.m.
