CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. (June 4, 2018) – Rollins standout Seher Atwal was named First Team All-America by the Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA).
The sophomore is the 64th Rollins women's golf All-American since the WGCA started the honor in 1994. The Tars also boast 36 First Team selections.
Atwal earned an Honorable Mention All-America nod as a freshman in 2017.
A native of Delhi, India, Atwal finished the season ranked ninth nationally in adjusted scoring average and led the Tars with 74.47 strokes per round. She posted nine rounds of par or better as well as seven top-10 finishes in 11 events, including two wins.
Atwal started the year with a third-place finish at the Princeton Invitational, posting a six-over score of 222. A week later she tied for seventh at the NSU GolfRank Invitational with the same score. She posted a fall-season best 218 (72-76-70) at the Ruth's Chris Tar Heel Invitational.
The spring got off to a hot start with a 14th-place finish at the Peggy Kirk Bell Invitational, individual victory at the Christian Brothers Buccaneer Spring Classic and sixth-place finish at the BarryU Invitational.
Atwal picked up another win at the Harvard Invitational, shooting a two-over 218 (74-74-70) to close the regular season. After a 17th place finish at the Sunshine State Conference Championship, she tied for sixth at the NCAA Super Regional and tied for seventh at the NCAA National championship.
Rollins finished the year with 11 top-10 finishes, including one win, won runner-up and two third place finishes. The Tars took eighth at the NCAA Division II National Championship.
