CHAPEL HILL, N.C. (October 13, 2018) – Rollins moved up one spot on the leaderboard into 17th heading into the final round of the Ruth's Chris Tar Heel Invite.
The Tars stand at 35-over for the tournament, shooting a 309 Friday and coming back with a round of 302 on Saturday. Rollins jumped UNC Wilmington and are now five-shots clear of the Seahawks and just three-shots back of 16th-place Ohio State.
Duke continues to lead the field, sitting at 15-under with rounds of 271-290. Virginia is second with a seven-under score of 569.
Seher Atwal shot a two-over 74 on Saturday and is tied for 49th with a six-over score of 150. The junior started on the back-nine and got to two-under by midway through the side. She was even at the turn and dropped to three-over before finishing par-birdie-par for her two-over round.
Selin Timur and Jennifer Jung both made huge leaps on the leaderboard Saturday. Timur jumped 22 spots into a tie for 63rd, shooting a two-over 74 and holding a nine-over 153. Her day started with a double-bogey but she fought back and grabbed three birdies the rest of the way to highlight the round. Jung climbed 25 spots into a tie for 68th after firing a one-over 73 second round. The freshman posted a very solid round with seven pars and two bogeys on over the first nine holes. She started the last nine with five-straight pars, picked up a birdie, and finished with three more pars.
The North Carolina Ruth's Chris Tar Heel Invitational will conclude Sunday, Oct. 13 with a final 18-holes. Rollins is grouped with UNC-Wilmington and the Buckeyes for the final round. Fans can follow scoring live at GolfStat.com.
