CHAPEL HILL, N.C. (October 14, 2018) – Rollins shot a final round 307 on Sunday and finished the Ruth's Chris Tar Heel Invitational tied for 17th.
The Tars were up against one of the best fields of any fall tournament in the nation and were the only non-Division I team on the course. Rollins came in with scores of 309-302-307 at North Carolina's Finley Course to finish the event 54-over and tie with UNC-Wilmington.
Duke led wire to wire and captured the team title with a 14-under score of 850. The Blue Devils shot scores of 271-290-298. Virginia was second at eight-under and Arkansas third (-5).
Seher Atwal posted a solid 74 final round and finished with an eight-over 224 to tie for 43rd. The junior opened the event with a 76 on Friday before matching 74's the next two days. Starting on No. 15, she was even most of the final round and got into red numbers with a birdie on her seventh hole. She was two-over at the turn and took another bogey on No. 14 to finish the day.
Sophie Faulkner jumped one spot on the leaderboard Sunday and finished tied for 85th with scores of 78-81-76 (235/+19). She had a string of two birdies on the front to highlight the day.
Lara van Staden finished 92nd at 25-over (241) with scores of 76-82-83.
Rollins will have three individuals playing in the Saint Leo Invitational, Oct. 15-16 at Lake Jovita Country Club.
The Tars fall season concludes November 5-6 at the Rollins Legends Invitational at Country Club of Orlando.
