MIAMI SHORES, Fla. (March 25, 2019) – Rollins charged four spots up the leaderboard in the afternoon Monday, moving into a tie for sixth after the first two rounds of the Barry University Invitational by ACF Pizza.
The 17th-ranked Tars are part of an elite field of 17 teams, 13 of which are ranked in the Division II GolfStat top-25.
Rollins shot scores of 298-295 Tuesday and are 17-over with 593 strokes. Eighth-ranked Florida Tech leads the way at three-under while host and top-ranked Barry is second at one-under.
The Tars are tied with ninth-ranked Lynn and just four shots back of third-ranked Nova Southeastern in fifth.
Seher Atwal leads the way for Rollins, sitting tied for eighth at even-par for the tournament. The junior standout posted a one-under 71 in the opening round with two birdies and one bogey, then came back with a 73 in the afternoon.
Selin Timur has a pair of 74's and is tied for 24th at four-over. She got to one-under after an eagle on the 12th before taking three bogeys to close her first round. In round two, Timur was consistent with three bogeys and a birdie.
Jennifer Jung is tied for 30th at five-over, shooting a first round 76 and then jumping 22 spots on the leaderboard with a 73 in round two. Sophie Faulkner (77-80) and Lara van Staden (82-75) are tied for 72nd, both at 13 over.
Lucy Eaton of Florida Tech leads the field at six-under for the tournament, firing rounds of 70-68
The Barry U Invitational will conclude Tuesday, March 26 with 18 final holes at Don Shula's Golf Club in Miami Shores, Florida.
