Rollins Drops to 10th at NCAA South Region Tourney

CLEVELAND, Tenn. (May 7, 2019) – Rollins turned in a second round 313 Tuesday and sits 10th heading into the final round of the NCAA Division II South Region Tournament. 


The Tars are 40-over for the event, hosted by Lee University at Cleveland Country Club in Cleveland, Tennessee. Lynn leads the way at 15-over with Saint Leo (+18) second. Limestone (+21), Barry (+22) and Florida Tech (+24) join Nova Southeastern and Tampa, both at 28-over, battling for a spot in the National Championship. The top four teams and four individuals not from those teams at the end of Wednesday's final round will move on. 

Seher Atwal made a 20-spot jump up the leaderboard on Tuesday, grabbing a tie for 17th at six-over. She came into the day with a 77 and posted a one-over 73 second round. The junior was two over at the turn and posted birdies on three of the next six holes on the back, coming in at one-under for the second nine. Atwal still has an outside shot at qualifying for the national championship as an individual depending on Wednesday's results. 

Lara van Staden is tied for 31st at 10-over for the tournament. She shot a 75 on Monday and posted a seven-over 79 Tuesday. Jennifer Jung is tied or 39th a shot back of van Staden, carding scores of 75-80 (+11). 

Selin Timur is tied for 49th with rounds of 76-81 (+13) and Sophie Faulkner is tied for 60th with scores of 80-82 (+18).

Rollins tees off its final round beginning at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday on No. 10, playing with Flagler and Anderson. Fans can follow the action live at
