CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. (May 17, 2019) - Rollins standout junior Seher Atwal was named First Team All-America by the Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA), it was announced Thursday.
Atwal earned a spot on the first team each of the last two seasons and was Honorable Mention All-America as a freshman. She gives Rollins women's golf 65 All-Americans since the WGCA started recognizing teams in 1994. The Tars also now boast 37 First Team selections.
The Delhi, India native finished the year ranked fifth in the nation in adjusted scoring average and led the Tars to a No. 16 ranking. She posted a 73.35 stroke average in nine events, shooting seven rounds of par or better. Atwal finished in the top-10 four times and only once finished outside the top-25 in an event. She tied for fourth at the Rollins Legends Invitational to close the fall and started the spring by winning the Florida Southern Lady Moc Classic. She posted rounds of 69-71-71 at the event to finish five-under and run away with medalist honors at the 103-player tournament.
In her three-year career, Atwal has a 74.85 stroke average in 95 rounds, with 15 top-10s, seven top-five's and three victories.
