WGCA Honors All-American Scholars Faulkner and Lovan

CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. (July 8, 2019) – Sophie Faulkner and Shyanne Lovan were honored by the Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) as 18Birdies All-American Scholars, it was announced Monday.


Lovan is a two-time honoree while Faulker is on the list for the first time.

Faulkner saw action in all 10 events during the 2018-19 season, posting a 78.07 stroke average over 29 rounds. Her best finishes of the season were twice finishing tied for 29th, shooting nine-over at the Princeton Invitational and 15-over at the Sunshine State Conference Championship. Faulkner's low round of 71 came at the SSC Championship. A rising junior, Faulkner is majoring in International Business.

Lovan played 16 rounds in the 2018-19 season, finishing a season-best tied for 44th at the Harvard Invitational. She posted an 82.06 stroke average with low rounds of 79 three times. Lovan is a rising senior majoring in Economics.

The 18Birdies WGCA All-American Scholars list featured total of 1,096 women's collegiate golfers. The criteria for selection to the All-American Scholar Team are some of the most stringent in all of college athletics. The minimum cumulative GPA is 3.50.

Since 1996, Rollins women's golf boasts 45 WGCA All-American Scholars.
