Olin Earns IWLCA Division II Player of the Week Honors

Senior Named One of Two DII National Players of the Week

WINTER PARK, Fla. (March 14, 2018) – After helping the Rollins women's lacrosse team go undefeated last week, including a big 15-4 rout of then 10th-ranked Queens, senior goalie Malorie Olin has been named an IWLCA Division II Player of the Week, organization officials announced Wednesday.  (Full IWLCA article)

This marks the first IWLCA DII Player of the Week award for Olin in her career, and the first for the award as it kicks off for the first time ever this week.  Olin, who earned her nod for her defensive performance, shares her Division II Player of the Week nod with Meghan O'Brien, who grabs her honors for her efforts on offense last week.

Olin helped the Tars go undefeated on the week, including helping Rollins upset then 10th-ranked Queens in a big 15-4 victory, followed by a 14-8 win over Seton Hill.  On the week, Olin faced 34 total shots, allowing just 12 goals, for a goals-against-average of just 6.00.  The senior posted up a save percentage of .538 with 14 key saves, as Rollins advanced to win their fourth straight. 

Against the nationally-ranked Royals, Olin faced 15 shots and 10 shots on goal, making six key saves and causing one turnover while allowing just four shots to find the back of the net.  Wrapping up the week against Seton Hill, Olin earned three ground balls while facing 19 shots and 16 shots on goal from the Griffins.  The Skaneateles, N.Y. native earned eight saves while allowing just eight goals on the day.

Rollins returns to action on Thursday, March 15, when they take on Young Harris in a neutral site contest held at North Forsyth High School in Cumming, Ga.  Game time against the Mountain Lions is set for 6:15 p.m.  Fans who are unable to attend the game will be able to follow all of the action with live stats provided by Young Harris, with a link available on
