Junior Secures Second Player of the Week Nod of the Season; Fourth Career
MELBOURNE, Fla. (April 16, 2018) – After earning a new program record for overall points in a game with seven goals and three assists against No. 15 Saint Leo, junior midfielder Kallie German has been named Sunshine State Conference Offensive Player of the Week, conference officials announced, Monday.
This marks the second Offensive Player of the Week award for German's junior season, and the fourth of her career.
German earned a new program record for overall points in a game as she scored seven goals and added three assists for a 10 point outing against the 15th-ranked Saint Leo Lions on Saturday evening. The Centreville, Md. native fired off 16 shots and 10 shots on goal, helping the then No. 6/9 Tars defeat the Lions in Sunshine State Conference action. German scored the game-winner against the Lions, who checked in at No. 15 on the NIKE/US Lacrosse Division II Top 20 this past week, but did not appear on the IWLCA Division II Coaches Poll. Her 10th point of the game came on an assist with 12:53 remaining in the second half, besting the previous record of nine points in a contest held by eight different Tars throughout the program's 11 year history.
The Tars close out their regular season schedule on Wednesday, April 18, when they travel to Daytona Beach, Fla. to take on first year program Embry-Riddle in SSC action.
