SET-UP:
After a week and a half away from the game field, the fifth-ranked Rollins women's lacrosse team is primed and ready to hit the ground running in their Sunshine State Conference portion of their schedule.  The Tars open SSC play on Saturday evening, when they take on the Sailfish of Palm Beach Atlantic University at the PBA Soccer/Lacrosse Field in West Palm Beach, Fla.  Game time against the Sailfish is set for 5 p.m.  Fans who are unable to support the Tars in person will be able to follow all of the action live on the Tars Sports Network, as well as with live stats on TarsStats.com.

TRACKING THE TARS:
With an unblemished record of 9-0 to open their season, the Tars checked in at No. 5 on the IWLCA DII Poll this week, as well as No. 6 on the NIKE/US Lacrosse DII Top 20.  After nine games played this season, the Tars have scored 176 goals, averaging 19.56 per game, while earning 75 assists.  The Tars are averaging 39.67 shots per game, and own a shot percentage of .493 as a team.  Senior Kallie German leads the team in goals, assists, and overall points, as she has scored 30 times while dishing out 19 assists for 49 points overall.  Hannah Ashton follows with 28 goals of her own, followed by Paige Brock with 23.  Behind German's 19 assists, freshman Caroline Gastonguay has notched 14 while adding 11 goals.  Leading the team in ground balls is Lily Rizk with 16, followed by Gabby Tanner with 13, and Gastonguay and Lindsay Van Beck with 11 apiece.  Van Beck has amassed a team-leading 48 draw controls, averaging 5.3 per game, and also leads the Tars in caused turnovers with 12.  Maggie Dougherty is another force on the draw, winning 32 draw controls so far this year.  In goal, Tanner has played 421:10 minutes, earning 54 saves while allowing 51 goals.  Tanner enters into Saturday's game with a save percentage of .514, and a goals against average of just 7.27.

TRACKING THE SAILFISH:
Entering into the weekend with an overall record of 5-3, the Sailfish will kick off SSC action against the Tars on Saturday.  PBA is coming off of a 19-5 loss to Alabama-Huntsville on Wednesday, March 20, but prior to that were riding a three game win streak after defeating American International (14-12), Oglethorpe (18-1), and Nyack (15-5).  After eight games, the Sailfish have put up 116 goals, averaging 14.5 goals per game, and hold onto a shot percentage of .464.  PBA has earned 53 assists, and average 31.3 shots per game.  Leading the team in goals is Grace Bartlinski with 40, followed by Kiki Cinotti with 22.  Cinotti leads the team in assists with 31, for a total of 53 points so far this season.  Abigal Nehring has earned a team best 27 ground balls, followed by Lindsey Heffler with 17, while Bartlinski has amassed a team best 38 draw controls.  Heffler has earned a team best eight caused turnovers, followed by Chanel Nassir and Grayson Beemus with seven apiece.  Nehring has seen the most time in goal for PBA, playing a total of 370:26 minutes where she has faced 177 shots.  Nehring has earned 56 saves while allowing 82 goals, posting a save percentage of .406 and holding onto a goals against average of 13.28.

  • Gabby Tanner ranks seventh in DII and first in the SSC in goals against average (7.27).  Tanner also sits 11th in DII and first in the conference in save percentage (.514).
  • Kallie German ranks 23rd in DII and second in the SSC in assists (19).  German also ranks 29th in DII and second in the SSC in assists per game (2.11).  German sits 18th in DII and fourth in the SSC in overall points (49), and 17th in DII/second I the SSC in points per game (5.44).
