MELBOURNE, Fla. – Rollins has been selected to finish fourth in the Sunshine State Conference Preseason Women's Soccer poll, as it was announced on Tuesday. The Poll is conducted by the SSC's eleven head coaches.
Coaches gave Barry a six-vote edge over Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University for first place in the poll. The Eagles received 83 votes and five first place votes. Nova Southeastern finished third with 82 total votes and two first place votes. Rollins College, Saint Leo University, and the University of Tampa finished fourth, fifth, and sixth in the poll, respectively. Saint Leo and Tampa both received a first place vote.
Rollins is receiving votes in the United Soccer Coaches women's preseason national poll, when it was announced Thursday, August 3rd.
Last season, the Tars ended their regular season campaign with an overall record of 11-4-3 and 5-1-3 in SSC play. Rollins will look to return to the NCAA tournament this season, after being eliminated last season by SSC rival Barry, in the second round of the NCAA tournament.
The Tars will kick-off their 2017 season on Friday, September 1st at 4:30 pm against Mississippi College.
