BOCA RATON, Fla (September 26, 2018) – Rollins won their match versus Lynn on the road, 2-1. The win moves the Tars to 4-1-3 overall, and 2-1-0 in Sunshine State Conference play. Lynn moves to 3-5-0, and 1-2-0 in SSC action.
Kathryn O'Brien and Kiera McMeekan found the back of the net for Rollins, both were assisted by Jill Richards. Kelly Rowswell made five stops for Rollins, seeing all of the action in goal for the Tars. Gabriela Moreira earned one goal for Lynn, while Donish Henry-Cole followed with an assist for the Fighting Knights. Kiara Burga played the full 90 minutes of the match, with 2 saves for the Fighting Knights.
Lynn opened the scoring in the 39th minute when Morgan Meltzer found the net. Richards found O'Brien in the 75th minute of the game to equalize. The junior, O'Brien got a pass from Richards in the midfield and took a shot for a goal. Two minutes later Richards found McMeekan to put Rollins ahead of Lynn. Senior McMeekan took a header from Richards free kick. The Tars held on to come out of their road trip with a victory against the Fighting Knights.
Rollins will look to get a winning streak going on Saturday, September 29, when host Nova Southeastern at home. The match is scheduled for 7 p.m.
