MELBOURNE, Fla. (October 29, 2018) – Junior goalkeeper Kelly Rowswell ended her regular season by earning another Sunshine State Conference Defensive Player of the Week Award, the league office announced. Rowswell made 15 saves, without surrendering a goal, as the Tars clinched the No. 3 seed in the SSC Tournament with two wins last week. Similarly, Rollins downed Eckerd in their regular season finale 2-0 on Friday evening. Rowswell made eight stops throughout the course of the road contest.
For the season the junior net-minder has compiled 70 saves, third most in the conference, while maintaining a .864 save percentage, and a .691 goals against average, both the second best marks in the SSC. The two-time All-SSC performer has also led the Rollins defense to six clean sheets during the campaign, tied for the most in the conference.
The Tars will open postseason play tonight, Monday, October 29, by hosting the Florida Tech Panthers at Barker Family Stadium. Kickoff is slated for 7 p.m.
