WINTER PARK, Fla. (June 24, 2019) – Rollins Women's Soccer Head Coach Alicia Schuck has name Scott Collins a full time assistant coach. Collins joined Rollins in the spring and will be on the sidelines with the Tars for the first time in the fall.
Collins comes to Winter Park from Florida Gulf Coast University where he served as an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator. He focused on the team's defensive unit and set pieces. He also scouted opponents and did video analysis for the Eagles.
During his time in Fort Myers Collins helped oversee a group that won eight consecutive Atlantic Sun regular season titles, and reached four straight NCAA Tournaments. During his time at FGCU he helped coach the programs first All-American, nine All-Southeast Region players, the ASUN Goalkeeper of the Year, and the ASUN Defensive Player of the Year. Collins recruiting classes ranked No. 37 in 2016 and No. 17 in 2017.
Prior to joining the Eagles Colling applied his trade at the University of Arkansas. He helped propel the Razorbacks to first ever win over a ranked opponent, their first SEC Tournament win in 16 seasons, and their first NCAA Tournament berth. While in Fayetteville he also served as the Academy Director and Staff Coach for Arkansas Comets FC. In his six years with the 96' boys, he was able to help them capture six titles and become the first ever team from Arkansas to win the Region III Southern Premier League.
Schuck says, "We are fortunate to have such an experienced and innovative coach join our family at Rollins. He brings a plethora of skill sets to the table and has spent time in the college coaching arena which is invaluable. One of the things that jumped out at me is how Scott identifies the potential in our program and embraces the true character and core values of our program and student-athletes. He is full of ideas and inspiration which is driving our players to work hard, improve, and have fun. I am thrilled to have him join our team and help guide our program toward its continued success on and off the field."
The Tars regular season opens with a trip to perennial power Grand Valley State on Thursday, September 5; kickoff is slated for 7:30 p.m.
