KANSAS CITY, Mo. (October 9, 2019) – Rollins Women's Soccer has earned United Soccer Coaches 2018-19 Team Academic Award recognition, the organization has announced.
The Tars finished the school year with a 3.53 cumulative GPA. This is the second consecutive Academic Award for Rollins women's soccer, and the programs 11th honor in the last 13 seasons. Rollins is one of 259 schools to have both the men's and women's teams to win the award.
A total of 999 college teams earned the Team Academic Award. College Team Academic Award recipients are active members of the United Soccer Coaches College Services Program with a composite grade point average of 3.0 or better on a 4.0 scale for all players on the roster for the 2018-19 academic year.
Rollins finished the season at 9-4-5 overall, and 6-2-2 in Sunshine State Conference action, and advanced to the NCAA Tournament. Five Tars earned United Soccer Coaches All-South Region honors.
The 2019-20 Tars return to action tonight, Wednesday, October 9, at 7 p.m. when they travel to Saint Leo, as they look to remain unbeaten in conference play.
