SET UP: The Tars women's swim team is primed to open their 2017-18 campaign with a visit to the Tampa Spartans.  As a team Rollins finished seventh at the Sunshine State Conference Championship meet last season, while the Spartans captured a second place finish.

Rollins: The Tars return two NCAA Championship qualifiers from last season, Grace Hansen and Taylor Wilks.  Hansen enters her junior year as the Rollins record holder in the 400-Yard Individual Medley, and as a member of the record breaking 200-Yard and 400-Yard Medley Relay teams.  She advanced to the NCAA Championship meet in both 400-Yard Individual Medley and the 200-Yard Butterfly.  Wilks, also a member of those record relay teams, holds the school record in the 100-Yard and 200-Yard Breaststroke.  She competed in the 100-Yard Breaststroke at the NCAA Championship meet.

Rollins will also look to eight new faces, including six freshmen, and two transfer students, to make an impact in the pool this season.

Tampa: The Spartans return a trio of All-SSC swimmers to highlight the 2017-18 squad.  McKenzie Street headlines the group as a First Team selection.  The junior swam in a number of events for Tampa, including the 200 and 100-Yard Breaststroke, the 100-Yard Fly, and the 200-Yard Individual Medley.  Stephanie Long, a Second Team selection last year, was a finalist in four events at the SSC Championship meet.  Brittany Bayes, a three event finalists at the SSC meet, specializes in distance events for the Spartans.

Tampa will also rely on a sizable incoming cohort, as the Spartans house 11 freshman on their roster.

Rollins will take a two week hiatus from competition, following their opener, before heading south for a tri-meet, in Boca Raton, against Lynn and Keiser.  The three teams will take to the water on Saturday, October 28, at 11 a.m.
