Rollins Falls to Tampa in Season Lid-Lifter

WINTER PARK, Fla. (October 13, 2018) – Rollins opened the 2018-19 season Saturday, hosting Tampa at the Alfond Pool. Despite some stellar individual efforts from the Tars newcomers, the home team fell to UT 196-66. 

Freshman Beatriz Olivieri had a big debut for the Tars, winning the 100-yard butterfly in 57.96 and taking third in the 200-yard IM in 2:13.91. 

Sydney Willis was second in the 200-yard freestyle in 1:57.65 and later took third in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 2:12.91. 

Marisa Gingerich took runner-up in the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 2:12.91 and senior Grace Hansen was second in the 200-yard butterfly, stopping the clock at 2:13.47. 

Rollins hosts a busy weekend Oct. 19-20, welcoming Florida Southern for a 4 p.m. start on Friday, Oct. 19 and Keiser for an 11 a.m. affair on Saturday, Oct. 20.
