WINTER PARK, Fla. (October 22, 2018) – Tars freshman Beatriz Olivieri was named Sunshine State Conference swimmer of the week Monday October 22. From the past two meets in back-to-back days vs nationally ranked opponents: Four individual events wins, one relay event win. Against No. 17 Florida Southern (FSC 128, RC 77). Olivieri swept the 200-yard butterfly touching the wall with a time of (2:05.34) she is currently 4th fastest time in nation and NCAA "B" cut. She also notched her second victory in the 200-yard freestyle (1:56.65) and is currently 35th fastest time in nation. Additionally, Olivieri swam leg of Rollins 4th place 200-yard medley relay team. Against NAIA No. 5 Keiser (less than 24 hours after meet with FSC) picked up a win in three events in the 200-yard butterfly (2:07.46), 500-yard freestyle (5:12.91), swam leg in the 200-yard freestyle relay. Finishing the meet swimming leg on second place 200-yard medley relay.
Rollins hosts Friday's competition against Saint Leo at 4 p.m. Following Saturday the Tars go on the road to Fort Lauderdale, Fla for match up against Nova Southeastern and Lynn at 12 p.m. Fans who are unable to support the Tars in person can follow all of the action live, as well as with a live broadcast on Tars Sports Network.
