MELBOURNE, Fla. (November 19, 2018) – Freshman Beatriz Olivieri produced a dominate performance at the Florida Tech Panther Invitational over the weekend and was named Sunshine State Conference Swimmer of the Week.
The Rio de Janeiro native posted the fastest time in the nation in the 200-yard butterfly, stopping the clock at 2:01.80 in a winning effort. The mark reached the NCAA B standard and set a new Rollins program record.
Olivieri won the 500-yard freestyle in a NCAA B cut and school record time of 4:58.31, putting her fifth in the country in the event. She posted a runner-up finish in the 100-yard butterfly in 56.32 and ranks 11th in the nation in the event. She also swam a leg of the Tars school record-setting 800-yard freestyle relay, setting a school record with a leadoff time of 1:51.97, ranking 16th in the country.
Rollins is off for the Thanksgiving holiday and will be back in the pool November 29-December 1 at the Savannah College of Art and Design Invitational.
