Saint Leo Edges Rollins on the road

SAINT LEO, Fla. (February 1, 2019) – Rollins picked up two individual event wins, but the depth of Saint Leo proved to be too much as the Tars fell to the Lions 132-73 in a Sunshine State Conference dual.

Darrelle Pawley won the 200-yard breaststroke in 2:32.70 for the Tars.

Sydney Willis took first in the 400-yard IM with Beatriz Olivieri right behind in second (4:39.92).

Willis later teamed with Shae Knox, Maya Thompson and Samantha Shelly to finish runner-up in the 200-yard freestyle relay, stopping the clock a 1:40.30.

Olivieri added a second place finish in the 500-yard freestyle (5:12.91) just a second out of first place. Makenzie Grider was third in 5:27.80 and earlier in the day finished runner-up in the 1650-yard freestyle with a time of 18:04.27.

Thompson was second in the 100-yard freestyle while Grace Hansen took second in the 200-yard backstroke. Cara Dealy finished second in the 200-yard butterfly (2:16.83) and Emma Jones was third (2:18.10). Anna Van Zyverden picked up a third place finish in the 50-yard freestyle, clocking 25.59.
