Rollins Women Win Panther Invitational

MELBOURNE, FLA. (November 24, 2019) – Rollins jumped out to a big lead on the first day of the Florida Tech Panther Invitational and never looked back, posting a huge win for the Tars women's program. Highlighted by seven NCAA B cuts, Rollins finished with 648 points. Florida Southern was second with 462 and host Florida Tech third with 407.

To start the final day Sydney Willis, with the first place finish in the 1650-yard freestyle with a time of 17:18.92, putting the sophomore on the NCAA B cut list. Jill Hughes finished in third place with a time of 17:38.89.

Beatriz Olivieri won the 200-yard butterfly stopping the clock with a B cut time of 2:02.81. The sophomore won the race by nearly six seconds.

Maya Thompson won the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 52.05 to grab an NCAA b cut. Hannah Brockman finished third (52.98).

Darrelle Pawley with the third place finish in the 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 2:24.82. Maia Russell in fourth (2:25.58).

Overall at the three-day event, Oliveri posted three NCAA B cuts (500 freestyle, 200 freestyle, 200 butterfly) while Willis (1650 freestyle, 500 freestyle) and Thompson (50 freestyle, 100 freestyle) both grabbed a pair.
