Tars Make Easy Work of Savage Storm

WINTER PARK, Fla. (March 22, 2018) – The Tars captured a resounding win, playing their second game in as many days, defeating Southeastern Oklahoma, 8-1.  With the win the No. 19 Tars improve to 9-6 overall in 2018. 

The Tars swept doubles action to take the early lead.  The newly minted No. 29 doubles pair in the country, Fabiana Vitanza and Alexandra Borg, took the first position match 8-4.  Teresa Kaiser and Katie Dyson continued to roll with a second position, 8-5 win.  Marie Debruyn and Savanna Fuller helped complete the sweep with a shutout win on the third court. 

The Tars took five of six single match to assert their dominance in the match.  Borg took her second win, cruising 6-2, 6-0 in the second singles spot.  Dyson won the third position match by an equally convincing score of 6-0, 6-2.  Carlye Goldman recovered from a second set defeat to earn the three set win in the fourth position.  Savanna Fuller dominated, with a 6-3, 6-0 win in the fifth spot.  Teresa Kaiser ended the day with a three set win  of her own, 6-3, 4-6, 10-2. 

The Tars return to SSC play as they take on Nova Southeastern this Saturday, March 24, at 11 a.m.
