Buckley Named to High School Hall of Fame

DES MOINES, Iowa (January 8, 2019) – Head Women's Tennis Coach Bev Buckley has been named to the Roosevelt High School Athletic Hall of Fame, the school has announced.

Buckley, who graduated from Roosevelt in 1971, is a member of the fourth class of inductees.  Buckley won three consecutive singles State Championships, while gathering multiple Metropolitan Conference and District titles during her time in Iowa. 

Buckley continued her playing career at Rollins, winning two State Collegiate Doubles crowns and one State Singles title before her graduation in 1975.  Buckley took over the reins of the Tars tennis program in 1986 and is now entering her 32nd season at the helm of the Rollins women's tennis program. 

Buckley and the Tars get the 2019 season underway on February 1, when Arkansas-Fort Smith will visit Winter Park.  First serve is set for 3:30 p.m.
