Tars Come Up Short at Seawolves

ROHNERT PARK, Calif. (March 12, 2019) – The Tars struggled during the second leg of their California trip, falling to Sonoma State by a score of 5-2.  Rollins falls to 5-4 on the year, while the Seawolves improve to 4-2 during 2019.

Rollins only captured one doubles match, as Sonoma State won the doubles point.  The Tars took the second court matchup with Savanna Fuller and Carley Goldman earning a 7-5 decision.

The Seawolves had clinched the match before Rollins eanred their first point.  Marie Debruyn took a first set tiebreak, on her way to a 7-6 (6), 6-3 victory on the fifth court.  Freshman Kaitlynn Groves tallied the Tars second point, recovering from a first set loss to win the number three singles match 1-6, 7-5, 11-9.

The Tars conclude their road trip tomorrow, Wednesday, March 13, when they travel to No. 5 Academy of Art.  First serve is set for 12 p.m. EST.
