Winter Park, Fla.

Wednesday, March 20, 2019 – 4:00 p.m.

The Tars will look to return to their winning ways, and jump back above the .500 mark with a win against Florida National this week.  The Tars opened their Spring Break road trip to California with a win over Stanislaus State, but fell to Sonoma State and No. 5 Academy of Art.  The Tars tangle with the Conquistadors will be vital for Rollins, as they look to gain momentum as they enter a portion of their scheduled dominated by tough Sunshine State Conference opposition.

The Tars have gotten first position play from Alexandra Borg, Ola Durzynski, and Savanna Fuller, as the three look to lead Rollins.  Marie Debruyn has talled a 7-3 singles mark on the season, going 1-0 in the fourth spot, 2-1 in the fifth, and 4-2 in the sixth.  Seniors Teresa Kaiser and Carlye Goldman join Debruyn as Tars with winning singles records. Overall, the Tars are just below even, at 27-29 in singles play.  Borg and Kaiser form the top doubles partnership for Rollins, going 4-2 in the number one position.  Fuller and Goldman have seen all of the second court action, going 6-4.  The No. 31 ranked singles player in the nation, Katie Dyson, has yet to see time for the Tars during dual match play.

Florida National:
The Conquistadors defeated Ave Maria, 8-1, on January 29, but have dropped six straight since the victory.  Florida National has taken on a pair of NCAA foes during the stretch, falling to Nova Southeastern and Florida Tech.  Last time out the Conquistadors came up short against Louisiana State University of Alexandria.  Florida National will bring a young squad to Winter Park with first year coach Federica Palombo leading a group of seven freshman.

The Tars will return to Sunshine State Conference play by hosting Embry-Riddle on Tuesday, March 26.  The match is slated to begin at 4 p.m.
