WINTER PARK, Fla. (April 7, 2019) – The No. 43 Tars could not overcome the No. 2 Barry Bucs, falling 6-1. Rollins falls to the .500 mark on the season at 8-8, and sit at 2-4 in Sunshine State Conference action. Barry improves to 14-1 on the year and 6-1 in conference play.
The Bucs took the first two double decisions, in the second and third spots, clinching the first point of the match. Alexandra Borg and Ola Durzynski teamed up for the first time this season and upset the No. 18 pair of Engelmann and Barrere in the first position, helping the Tars avoid the sweep.
Barry would win the first five singles matches, giving them the overall victory. The Tars earned their lone point on the sixth court. Marie Debruyn defeated Lopez, when the Buc was forced to retire.
The Tars will look to rebound on Wednesday, April 10, when they travel to No. 14 Florida Southern. First serve against the Mocs is set for 3 p.m.
