Division I Temple Too Much on Senior Day

WINTER PARK, Fla. (April 13, 2019) – Rollins could not down Division I Temple, falling 4-3, as they celebrated the careers of three seniors, Savanna Fuller, Carlye Goldman, and Teresa Kaiser.  The loss drops Rollins to 9-10 overall on the season.  The Owls improve to 13-6.

Rollins took the doubles point, taking two of the three matches.  The Owls captured the first decision before Rollins won on the first and third courts to seal the point.  Alexandra Borg and Ola Durzynski teamed up in the top position, improving to 4-0 on the year, with a 6-3 win.  Seniors Fuller and Goldman, teaming up after being honored pre-match, clinched the point with a 6-2, third spot, win.

Temple rebounded in singles play, winning four of the six matches to take the match.  The Tars got wins on the third and fifth courts. Kaiser tallied a 6-4, 7-5 singles win, on the third court, to celebrate her senior day.  Marie Debruyn registered her 13th victory of the season on the fifth court, recovering from a first set defeat to win 3-6, 6-3, 6-3.

The Tars will again shift their attention to Sunshine State Conference play.  Rollins hosts No. 47 Palm Beach Atlantic on Tuesday, April 16, in game that was rescheduled due to rain.  First serve is set for 4 p.m.
