The name Bev Buckley has been synonymous with success as both a player and now as a coach for the Rollins College women's tennis program for three decades. In the 1970's she was a standout player for the Tars, and now entering the 2018-19 year Buckley is involved in her 32nd season as the head coach of the women's tennis program. 

Since taking over the reigns of the women's program in 1986, Buckley has posted a 492-255 dual match record against tough competition. The team competed at the Division I level prior to the 1993-94 campaign and held it's own against many of the country's top programs. Since moving to Division II the Tars have proven themselves to be legitimate contenders for the national title.

In the 2013-14 season, Buckley led Rollins to their 20th consecutive NCAA Tournament Appearance with a 17-7 record, while finishing the season nationally ranked 9th. Elissa DeCampli became the 21st All-American under Buckley, finishing the season with a National Ranking of 18 in Singles. DeCampli finished the South Region ranked No. 7 in Singles. Ashley Rosenberg completed the season Nationally Ranked No. 36 in Singles, while DeCampli and Rosenberg both finished Nationally Ranked No. 11 in Doubles. Rosenberg was ranked No. 12 for Singles in the South Region and the team of DecCampli-Rosenberg were ranked No. 5 for Doubles in the South Region. The Tars finished fourth in the Sunshine State Conference and finished the South Region ranked No. 5.

The Tars completed both the 2013 fall and 2014 spring semesters with the Highest Team GPA (3.67) of all 22 teams at Rollins. The Tars earned a Team GPA of 3.2 or above in the ITA All-Academic Team, with eight players named 2014 ITA Scholar-Athletes (3.5 or Above GPA). Taylor Brown, Carli Davis and Elissa DeCampli earned a 4.0 GPA in the Fall and/or Spring Semesters while 10 players were named to the 2014 Spring SSC Commissioner's Honor Roll (3.2 GPA or Above).

A 1975 Rollins graduate, Buckley was a standout performer for the Tars and is a member of the Rollins College Athletic Hall of Fame. She is the winningest Coach in Rollins Tennis History. While competing at Rollins, she won two Florida state collegiate doubles titles and one state singles title. She was selected to the U.S. Junior Wightman Cup Squad in 1973 and was named an Outstanding College Athlete of America in 1974 and 1975. 

Following her graduation, she spent five years on the women's professional tour and participated in major events such as Wimbledon, the U.S. Open and the French Open. Prior to joining the Rollins staff, she coached five seasons at Southwestern College in Chula Vista, California, and served as tennis director and head teaching professional at Wakonda Club in Des Moines, Iowa. Originally from Iowa, Buckley was inducted into the Iowa Tennis Hall of Fame in 1991, the Missouri Valley USTA Section Hall of Fame and the Rollins Sports Hall of Fame in 1993, and the Roosevelt High School Alumni Hall of Fame in 2010.
