WALTHAM, Mass. (September 14, 2019) - Rollins wrapped up their trip to New England with a loss and a win on Saturday. They fell to the East Stroudsburg Warriors, 3-0, and followed that up with a 3-1 victory against the Caldwell Lions.

The Tars got off to a tough start in set one against East Stroudsburg, falling 25-10. As a team, they committed 11 attack errors, and only four kills. It was a different story in set two as the Tars controlled most of the match, holding as big as a seven-point lead. Unfortunately, they failed to close out with a 24-18 advantage, and dropped the set by a score of 26-24. Rollins only commmitted seven attack errors in the set, but four of them came during the Warriors' final rally. East stroudsburg completed the sweep in set three, taking it by a score of 25-21. Rollins was as close as one point at 19-18, but couldn't get over the hump for the win.

Junior Rachel Reeve turned in a nice all-around performance, recording three kills, 16 assists, five digs and a block. Harper Smith was the top attacker with five kills, while Charlie Durbin checked in with 18 digs.

Rollins was able to finish their weekend on a high note, securing a win against the Caldwell Lions. They were put to the test in set number one, but eventually took the victory, 27-25. After stumbling through set two with a 25-12 loss, Rollins was able to finish strong with wins in the third and fourth sets, 25-21 and 25-19. The Tars were agressive throughout the match, totaling 62 kills at a .321 percentage. Riley Spurlin led the way with 19 kills on 46.9% to go with three blocks. Harper Smith was the second piece of the attack combo, posting 16 kills at 41.9%. Both attackers took advantage of Rachel Reeve's fantastic play. Reeve tallied an impressive 51 assists in the match, raising her season total to 203 in eight games.

The Tars, who now stand at 3-5 on the year, will return to action on Tuesday when they travel to Melbourne to face conference foe Florida Tech.
